Suede Lounge Suite clean, North Rockhampton

In July we cleaned a very soiled faux suede lounge suite. It had succumbed to a household with three under-5-year-olds, and had many spills, stains and worked-in grime.

We gave it a thorough clean with some of the stronger agents we use, then applied upholstery protector and allowed it to dry with the help of our air movers - which are large industrial fans made specifically for drying carpets and such.

Here are a few photos of the couch as we went through the cleaning process:

The mission:

And the results: (its still a little wet when these photos are taken, so the seams and some areas are a bit darker than they would be when dry)

In the end the difference was spectacular; the thorough cleaning we gave it really paid off. Sadly it had been left a bit too long since its last clean, so there were slight blemishes from wear to the fabric. Remember - soiling doesn't just look bad, it speeds up how fast your fabric wears. The particles of dirt scratch the fibres on a microscopic level, so it will never be as 'bright' or evenly-coloured as it was when new. Don't hesitate to have your carpets and upholstery cleaned! By the time you can see soiling to your carpet and upholstery, the fibres are already being scratched.
