Occupational Health and Safety

DCC trained in Occupational Health and Safety

For two days in the last week of January Craig and Cassie attended an OHS course for Carpet Cleaning in Brisbane. The training was provided by Jena Dyco – a nationally recognised training institute for Carpet Cleaners. The course covered information on how to provide a safe and healthy work environment for ourselves, staff members and especially our clients through risk assessment and hazard identification. Since coming home from the course we have implemented a number of strategies to decrease the risks and hazards while carpet cleaning. At the end of the 2 day course Craig and Cassie sat an optional exam to become IICRC accredited in OHS. The results arrived by mail in mid March and both Craig and Cassie received 98%.

Cassie's Corner for April

Happy Easter!! I’m sure many of you will be planning a holiday for the Easter long weekend. Whether you are camping, visiting family, fishing or just relaxing at home I hope the Easter bunny finds you.

With the arrival of bub only 3-4 weeks away we have decided to stay in Rockhampton this year rather than visit Craig’s family in Wandoan as we usually do. Micah will miss seeing his cousins and Nana and Pa but I’m sure will get to see them once the baby arrives. Craig will still be heading to Wandoan (check out the country visits on page 2 for dates) so if you are in the Wandoan or Taroom areas and need your carpets cleaned give us a call ASAP as there are only 1 or 2 spots left.

November to February was extremely busy for Craig as he was often working 9-10 hours 6 days a week. As a result we have employed Max Hiron as a carpet cleaning technician to assist Craig on jobs as well as give Craig 2 days a week at home for relaxation and office time (and to help me out with the baby). So if a new smiling face appears at your door to clean your carpets please make Max feel welcome.
