Bouldercombe Carpet and Motorhome Upholstery Clean

Hello readers.

In August Diamond Carpet Cleaning ventured from our Rockhampton home base to do a few jobs in Bouldercombe. Occasionally we travel to towns around central Queensland every month or two to extend our great services to smaller or out-of-the-way places to make sure the residents of Queensland don't miss our professional services.

For this particular job we cleaned the client's home carpet, as well as the upholstery of their motorhome. The carpet was a blue/grey polypropylene and we gave it our standard package plus rotary agitation with our large scrubber to help loosen the soil.

Here is a before and after photo of the lounge room carpet:
(please excuse the light differences, the sun had moved so the camera had to use its flash for the 2nd picture)

In the motorhome the lush red upholstery was full of a great amount of dog hair. It took a lot of time to vacuum out, and in truth we could not remove 100% of it, but the results were great and the client was very happy.

Here is a before and two after photos of the motorhome upholstery:

If you are in Rockhampton or a surrounding town why not give us, Diamond Carpet Cleaning, a call so your carpets can be fresh and clean again. Check out our website to see our range of services and serviced locations.

Carpet Clean in North Rockhampton

Hello followers and potential clients!

In August we did some carpet cleaning in North Rockhampton, at the Village Gardens Retirement community. Most of the carpet there is the same, a cream loop-pile polypropylene.

Polyprop, or olefin as its otherwise known, is a great carpet for rentals or if you are on a budget. It is a cheaper carpet, is easy to clean most of the time, and does not hold any water. However it is crushed and scratched easily (don't drag heavy furniture on it, you might leave permanent trails!). It is resistant to most household water-based stains, but oil-based marks will stick to it.

The carpet we cleaned on this day was highly worn in specific tracks as the client uses a wheelchair. We performed our deluxe package, and it came up rather well.

Here is a before photo:

And after:

And a short clip that was taken during the clean can be found here.

If you would like your carpet professionally cleaned give us a call. Dont let polypropylene carpets stay dirty as the soil gets between the carpet fibres and scratches them, making the carpet appear dull and worn.

Lounge chair clean in Rockhampton

In March, Diamond Carpet Cleaning was called in to clean a couple older fabric lounge chairs. They had been soiled with general use over an undetermined amount of time, along with the help of two small dogs.

Here are some photos for you, so you can see how they went:

They turned out fairly good considering the soiling, though a slight amount of irreversible fabric wear had occurred - most likely from going too long before being cleaned. Remember, soiling makes your fabrics wear faster! Don't hesitate to have your upholstery steam cleaned even before it 'looks' dirty. Most fabrics and carpet have soil-hiding properties, so by the time you can see the dirt or discolouration, its already quite full of all the nasties that have been worked into the material over time.

Give Diamond Carpet Cleaning a call to keep your upholstery fresh and clean. It always feels so much better relaxing in a soft, clean and fresh chair, as opposed to one that is oily, grimy or sticky.

Suede Lounge Suite clean, North Rockhampton

In July we cleaned a very soiled faux suede lounge suite. It had succumbed to a household with three under-5-year-olds, and had many spills, stains and worked-in grime.

We gave it a thorough clean with some of the stronger agents we use, then applied upholstery protector and allowed it to dry with the help of our air movers - which are large industrial fans made specifically for drying carpets and such.

Here are a few photos of the couch as we went through the cleaning process:

The mission:

And the results: (its still a little wet when these photos are taken, so the seams and some areas are a bit darker than they would be when dry)

In the end the difference was spectacular; the thorough cleaning we gave it really paid off. Sadly it had been left a bit too long since its last clean, so there were slight blemishes from wear to the fabric. Remember - soiling doesn't just look bad, it speeds up how fast your fabric wears. The particles of dirt scratch the fibres on a microscopic level, so it will never be as 'bright' or evenly-coloured as it was when new. Don't hesitate to have your carpets and upholstery cleaned! By the time you can see soiling to your carpet and upholstery, the fibres are already being scratched.

Give Diamond Carpet Cleaning a call to preserve the beauty of your home's carpet and lounge suites.

Carpet clean in Cawarral

Earlier in June Craig performed a carpet clean in Cawarral for a client. The client ordered our standard package plus rotary agitation - where we give the carpet a good scrub with our large rotary scrubber (included normally in the Deluxe package).

Here are before and after photos of a part of the carpet:

After:

The nylon carpet came up very well, except for an unknown stain which wouldn't budge even after hitting it with a few different stain removers. Can't win them all!

Lounge suite clean in Rockhampton

In June, Craig cleaned a lounge suite for a client moving out of Rockhampton. The lounge was fairly soiled, but most of the time taken to clean it was vacuuming up a lot of white dog hair worked into the material.

Here are some before photos:

And after it was cleaned:
(note that the after photos were taken before Craig has 'groomed' the lounge, which evens out the fibre's 'pattern' that comes up from the cleaning tools.)

All in all it went well though. If you would like your lounge suite professionally cleaned be sure to contact us! Don't leave it too long - the longer your lounge goes without proper cleaning the more the dirt will wear the material, hampering how good it will come back up.

Before/After photos of my own leather lounge

After an awesome Sunday afternoon nap, I decided to finally clean and condition my leather lounge. (It's been on my to do list for 9 months) Our lounge like about 95% of leather lounges is made of protected leather. Protected leather cleans well as long as you don't let it go for too long (1-2 years is getting too long, 3-6 months is recommended).

A 'during' photo the middle of the lounge is cleaned.

Occupational Health and Safety

DCC trained in Occupational Health and Safety

For two days in the last week of January Craig and Cassie attended an OHS course for Carpet Cleaning in Brisbane. The training was provided by Jena Dyco – a nationally recognised training institute for Carpet Cleaners. The course covered information on how to provide a safe and healthy work environment for ourselves, staff members and especially our clients through risk assessment and hazard identification. Since coming home from the course we have implemented a number of strategies to decrease the risks and hazards while carpet cleaning. At the end of the 2 day course Craig and Cassie sat an optional exam to become IICRC accredited in OHS. The results arrived by mail in mid March and both Craig and Cassie received 98%.

Cassie's Corner for April

Happy Easter!! I’m sure many of you will be planning a holiday for the Easter long weekend. Whether you are camping, visiting family, fishing or just relaxing at home I hope the Easter bunny finds you.

With the arrival of bub only 3-4 weeks away we have decided to stay in Rockhampton this year rather than visit Craig’s family in Wandoan as we usually do. Micah will miss seeing his cousins and Nana and Pa but I’m sure will get to see them once the baby arrives. Craig will still be heading to Wandoan (check out the country visits on page 2 for dates) so if you are in the Wandoan or Taroom areas and need your carpets cleaned give us a call ASAP as there are only 1 or 2 spots left.

November to February was extremely busy for Craig as he was often working 9-10 hours 6 days a week. As a result we have employed Max Hiron as a carpet cleaning technician to assist Craig on jobs as well as give Craig 2 days a week at home for relaxation and office time (and to help me out with the baby). So if a new smiling face appears at your door to clean your carpets please make Max feel welcome.

'...VIP cleaning is a very convenient service from Diamond Carpet Cleaning (Rockhampton)...'

Just today received these comments.

They are from Leanne O'Neill of Rockhampton. Leanne is commenting in particular on our VIP club which in short is our monthly payments for cleaning. It comes with additional discounts and convenience as Leanne says.

I would like to say that I think the VIP cleaning is a very convenient service from Diamond Carpet Cleaning because small monthly payments are debited from your account and then you are reminded when it is time to get your carpets etc cleaned. It means that you don't have to find the money in a lump sum - it has already been paid for in advance. It also means that not too much time lapses between carpet cleaning, so it keeps the carpets in good condition.
I definitely agree that Craig's cleaning is of a very high service and I would recommend him to anyone. He is very thorough, from sitting down and telling you the different cleaning packages, explaining in detail what the different types of cleaning are and recommending what he thinks you need done. He did not rush through the cleaning because I believe he takes pride in his work and he knows all of the latest cleaning techniques. I have used Diamond Carpet Cleaning twice now and will continue with the VIP program, and look forward to the reminder call next time. The carpets look new again and smell fresh, as does my car, which he also cleaned. This means a lot as we have three hairy dogs that are in the house a lot!!
Craig is a very polite, hard working young man and I hope Diamond Carpent Cleaning prospers for him and his young family Leanne O’Neill, Rockhampton. 9/2/2010
